About
The Government Graduate College for Women was established near Chandni Chowk, Sargodha, in 1957. At the time of its establishment, there was a shortage of qualified teachers and resources. Later, in 1959, the college was shifted to its current building. In 1962, it was upgraded/affiliated for higher-level education.
In 1976, the institution introduced science and arts classes formally, and a proper academic system was established. In 1988, the college gained further recognition and began offering more structured educational programs. In 1998, it was upgraded again, and in 2010 it was introduced as a four-year degree program institution.
The college continues to provide quality education under the Higher Education Department. For the academic session 2025–2026, there is a noticeable increase in student enrollment. Students actively participate in co-curricular activities such as debates, short video competitions, speech competitions, and sports.
Students have achieved remarkable positions and awards in various competitions. They have also performed well in sports, including cricket and other inter-college events. The college administration appreciates the efforts of students and teachers.
Besides academic excellence, students are also involved in social, medical, and engineering-related fields, showing their talent and skills. The college plays an important role in shaping students into responsible citizens who contribute positively to society and the development of the country.
